A small change

I had to remove the all-inclusive 'pokemon' label, as clicking on it loaded all 200+ images, which was a bandwidth drain and probably overkill for those looking for a specific pokemon.

I've now implemented several new labels which break down the pokemon into groups of about 25. Hopefully that will make it easier for people to find specific pokemon. Those who are interested in seeing all of them can do so by clicking the various grouping labels. :) Hopefully this is an OK middle ground.

Here is a funny story.

When I went to Egypt last year we hired a local guy to take us to the Valley of the Kings and show us around and give us a bit of touring. It was pretty nice and his English was very good and he told us he was always improving on it. During some of his explanations of the heiroglyphic carvings though he kept referring to snacks, which I thought was kind of a glib way to refer to funerary food. At one point he finally pointed to a picture as he was saying 'snacks' and oh duh he is saying SNAKES.

Of course by that time I couldn't tell him he had the word wrong because I'd been listening for about ten minutes. I felt bad.

Spearow and Fearow

A bird so majestic as Spearow deserves to be on a US flag clock. Everyone needs one in their rec room!

Rattata and Raticate

First it's a mousey rat with a monkey tail, then it's a hamstery thing with a rat tail.

Pidgey, Pidgeotto, Pidgeot

I'm not very good at drawing birds, these were harder than they should have been.

Beedrill

OK and here is Beedrill. The beedrill looks good I think but I should have made the background darker. No more scary bugs for a while. (Yes I forgot his wings.)

Kakuna

This one turned out better though less dark.

Weedle

I drew a bunch of Pokemon way ahead but put off coloring them because I wasn't sure if I could pull off what I wanted with crayons. I think I did okay though.

Butterfree

Of an evening dark and stormy
Watching rainy skies forlornly
Felt tiny flutters round my head
And ere I knew it I was dead

Blastoise

Wartortle can take care of business, but maybe he has to make a scene because he's trying to prove something?

Blastoise on the other hand seems so obviously capable that you just don't mess with him. I mean, he has built-in cannons. A guy like that can get the job done without hardly trying.

As I was drawing this I thought, "Why do these guys have ears?" Well the answer is so they can wear sunglasses.

OK Squirtle is a really dumb name.

Guys, King Solomon's Mines is a great book. It's all turn of the century gentlemanly African adventure and stuff.

In retrospect I should not have added the purple to the water, oh well. I could have photoshopped it into blue but I can't be bothered.

Venusaur

Venusaur seems kind of... well I wouldn't want one in my house. There is nothing very venus-like about it.

Ivysaur

Here is Ivysaur. He needs a trim. He is in that rebellious stage though. He can't wait to be a full grown Pokémon so people will stop telling him what to do. He'll be sorry when he evolves though because Venusaur is a big lumpy ugly thing but by then it will be too late.
